I love these shots as it was about 2 years before I got started shooting. Never saw a Santa Fe GP-30 this clean. By the time I showed up in 1964, they rarely appeared, and were grimy by then. Still lots of GP-20s, though.

I think the GP20s were equipped with signal equipment for the ATS on the Chicago-KC "Airline," and that's why you saw so much of them - they tended to keep their assignment between those cities for quite a while.
