Is it usual to have a Lok each end, rather than a driving trailer at one end, I wonder?

Actually there is one locomotive on each train. I think the driving trailer was damaged. Unfortunately, this happens very often. But for photographers this is very helpfull, because it is also possible to catch the loco with perfect light conditions and not with back light, as usual.
