Anyone notice the person walking on top of the last box car? Would hate to see him lose his balance.

This isn't just a cool shot, it is priceless! I missed this operation but read about it longing to visit someday... unfortunately it closed operations before I ever had the chance. Great angle and lighting during the definite heyday of real railroading in Canada. Makes my heart sink thinking about the loss. Thanks for putting that one up for us all to see.

I read an article in Railfan&Railroad on this rail/barge operation.Interesting to model in Ho scale.

The man on the roofwalk would have just finished setting the handbrake, and probably heading to set the rest. A wonderful photo Doug.

This is nice to see. CP8700 is now a GE ES44AC, not an EMD GP9. I would like to see more photos of the original 8700 with the foot boards.

Great Photo. I love the model railroading hobby, and have thought about doing something like this for an O scale module, or as a staging cassete model in HO or N scale. I love all aspects of railroading, and scenes like this are a piece of the colorful history of our world. Two that touch my heart are Street Cars and Trolleys, and Ferries and Car Floats. I really like this one, because of the capture of the man walking on the Ferry Barge towards the Geep. Picture with this kind of action are really some of the best as far as I'm concerned, because they offer glimpses into operations and the regular goings-on of the railroads and the poeple associated with them. Thanks again for sharing, and I'll be adding this one to my favorites cache.

Doug, this is such a wonderful photo you have taken. I love the lake in the background, such a calm setting. Looks like a model railroad scene.
