Stan... This is a beautiful shot of the "Viking" in its Michigan Interstate scheme. Sadly, in less than a year, the "Viking" would make its final voyage between Boat Landing (Elberta, MI) and Kewaunee bringing a close to almost 90 years of Ann Arbor Railroad cross-lake carferry service. If anyone has a desire to learn more about more about the fascinating history of the Ann Arbor car ferries, there is no resource better than this book: "Ninety years crossing Lake Michigan - The History of the Ann Arbor Car Ferries" by Grant Brown, Jr. (2008, The University of Michigan Press)
