I have photos from 1983 of a "herd" of C-636's on the deadline at Selkirk, NY. By 1983 Conrail's finanical situation was where new power was in the works. The Alcos were always considered a minority product and most were scrapped. some were in Conrail paint although a number of them were in Penn Central livery.
