Very nicely done. Looks like something out of Norman Rockwell. Now let me pick up my jaw off the floor.

To heck with the smoke bombs, 614 looks more alive in this shot than any museum scene I've seen yet. Perfect exposure to create the mood. Nicely executed. Well-earned SC!

You've done it again, Mitch! Raised the bar a couple more notches. Congratulations.

Excellent idea and equal execution Mitch. Congrats on the deserved SC!

Haunting is a about this only word I have for it. Every now and then you see an inspired shot and say "I wish I had done that." Well, that's happening quite a bit lately when I see your work Mitch, but this is a superlative among superlatives!

Excellent! Screener's choice is well deserved for your timeless story also.

Eerie! Very impressive shot, a very nice and different tone. PC.

That's a beauty, Mitch! Looks like the screeners weren't able to withstand your bombardment of excellence and finally gave you a well-deserved SC badge.

That's quite a Stogie glow the steam-hogg has going on there! ;) Love the mood of this photo Mitch - a museum human interest silhouette shot that instantly STANDS OUT from so many others out there.

Very well done image Mitch, wish we had steamers like this one running all the time like out your way!

Well deserved, Mitch! Another classic

That's pretty good for a phony-baloney photo shoot; well done.

Very nice, Mitch. Some pressure on those gauges is the only thing I can think of that would make it better.

Cool shot, Mitch, and congrats on the SC and POTW. I sense a trifecta coming. However, the icing on the cake would have been a little smoke wafting up from his cigar. :-)

Congratulations on the POTW (and SC)! Well deserved.

What a great image Mitch! A simple yet complete shot conveying the mood in the moment. Great job.

Who's the guy sitting behind the "engineer" on the jump seat? That would likely be a road foreman (or "traveling engineer" on some roads)----an official. That fancy pipe he's smoking befits his status. This shot captures the mood of the steam era quite well (although the air brake and steam pressure gauge lights would have been illuminated in actual service). Well done!

My first thought of seeing this picture was "Wow that's freakin' cool!".

I'd only be convinced if this engine really was still operating.
