For as long as I live I'll never forget hiking up to Deen Tunnel above Pando to watch a train much like this one do battle with one of railroading's most legendary routes. What you don't mentions is that besides the nine units are three crews - the road crew on the head end, the crew on the mid-train swing helpers that will most likely cut off at the summit to return to Minturn, and the rear end pusher crew that will probably stay on the rear to Salida or all the way to Pueblo.....and people wonder why the UP wanted to shut this down so bad....
