Nice shot, Brian. Looks like the 1356 is still down for a while...

Just want to add a correction. The 1380 is a upgraded GP7. It was built for the MKT as the 1505 then renumbered 95 and given a 567C prime mover. Sold to the CC&P and became the 1600. Sold to the North Shore Scenic Railroad in 1991 and became the 652. ILS bought the locomotive from the NSSR in 1996. I personally worked on this locomotive during its time on the NSSR.

Wait....isn't that ILSX 1381 you are thinking of? My friend Andy Inserra dropped that bit of knowledge on me that ILSX worked on the North Shore Scenic.

ILSX 1381 is a GP7. I believe that is the locomotive that he is thinking of.

Nope, the 1380 is the former NSSR 652. Andy roster info is incorrect. The 1380 has the small fuel tank the MKT specified and still sports the K5 air horn we purchased for it back in 1991. Here is a photo I took of the 1380/652 in Duluth. Note the same bend in the handrail behind the cab and the small tank. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=137105
