This is the old "super local", an eagarly sought after job by those with seniority to get a job with lots of time waiting for "more important" jobs to clear them. The 567 engine noise must have been wonderful.

Anyone remember the routing of this train ? I am CURIOUS HOW they got from ex-NH to the ex-B&A ? Via Framingham ?

This train is running on track three to avoid delaying varnish that is closing in from the south. This particular train will cut off onto the Old Colony at Mansfield and run to Selkirk via Framingham. There was a time when this train ran the main all the way to Readville and ran to Selkirk via Walpole and Framingham. Coming from Selkirk it ran the reverse route. This train at times would use two crews, plus the swing-man in New York.
