An unusual looking locomotive for sure. It has John Deere gensets. What is that other unit (70-tonner?) in the background?

If you have a look at this site - http://www.greenrailnews.com/brandt.html - it mentions that the GP9 was scrapped and this genset loco was built on an entirely new frame. Great photo though.

It wasn't GE 70-ton. It was a wierd looking thing tho. I think it was parked there because it had to do with the testing of the locomotive in the winter time.

I am really really glad they stopped at one. The thought of two of these things being around is almost too much to handle. Interesting photo.

It's now sitting on the Brandt property (siding) west of Regina. The unit has been sitting there for a couple of years now, not being used.
