Think of the thousands of consists that have made their way to Pittsburgh on this railway. All the iron ore that supplied a growing nation made it's way from Lake Erie to Pittsburgh. For over 100 years, Pittsburgh produced more steel than any other city in the world. The younger generations don't understand how much railroads are responsible for the industrial development of our country. I was taught their importance when I was in school, but it's not taught today. Maybe some day I'll get time to stroll along this railway. Hear the ghosts of consists years ago.
