Amazing depiction of the drama inherent in snow-clearing work, Kevin, and an outstanding caption to accompany the image. Job well done. (And for what it's worth, a D6 is actually rather small -- let's talk when you've seen a handful of D11s moving overburden at a surface coal mine. :) )

Um, "post holing?!?" They sell snow shoes on the east coast, don't they Kevin? Of course those would have probably caused you to exceed your amount of checked baggage without additional hefty fees. Southwest doesn't fly into Skagway, do they? Outstanding photo and thank you for the physical effort required to get into position to capture the drama of railroaders battling the elements of snow removal. No easy task I can assure you.

Kevin, this is a very impressive shot! Hard to believe that six weeks later when I past this place all that snow was gone.
