The FRA accident detail report for this derailment states that the train had 4 locomotives and 83 cars. At 10:25am on March 28, 1976, they derailed 13 of them at 20mph. The MP given in the report is 661.5 and cause was listed as "Other mechanical and electrical failures". The track damage total was $28,600 and equipment damage was $133,000.

Dang, James, even your DERAILMENT photographs are more colorful than everyone else's!! I camped out in the car once at this location. Little did I know the place had previously had its' "Garp Moment"!
