The second car on this train is a former Northern Pacific Budd-built diner, which was built with slab sides (as were the Budd dome coaches and sleepers,), to better match the smoothside Pullman-built cars in the North Coast Limited. BNSF has now added Budd fluting below the windows, but not to the same, standard height specifications, that Budd would have applied at the factory .
