What year was this? Each time I rode the New River Train, they turned her on the wye at Meadow Creek.

I've really enjoyed your three recent submissions to Railpictures. Some really great work and from my own backyard at that. I look forward to your future submissions to Railpictures. Thanks for sharing.

Superb. I dearly wish these trains would revert to steam traction, I'd cross the Atlantic like a shot if it were to happen.

This looks like 1986 or so. Footage from Marathon of Steam shows this location and this locomotive during the fall of 1986.

Even thought the turntables gone, it wold still be nice if CSX lightened up enough to let 765 pound the rails with the New River Train some day soon.

This was either 1985 or 1986. The single beam headlight gives that away. The only two years the 765 wore its single beam headlight on the New River Train were '85 and '86. Come 1987, the FWRHS crew stuck with the dual beam through to the end of 1993.
