Man this is a killer looking unit!
A super nice tribute to the Pennsy. Way to go NS!!!
Nailed it once again, another killer looking unit!
Beautiful - just stunning!
This is the best engine that they will have for a long time...
Wow... so gorgeous!
Standard heritage unit of the world
Muwhahahahaha its alive! Just spankin' beautiful, imagine a bunch of Gevo's running around in this paint!
wonderful !!!!!
Boxcar re...I mean, Tuscan Red never looked better. To be honest, though, the New York Central "lightning striper" will be the cream of the crop!
NS may not be happy, but I personally dedicate this locomotive to my father, the one time Pennsy man.
This one is defiantly my favorite thus far. Worried about GE's and where NS has placed the number on this..
Dude thats a sweet looking engine. Way to go Norfolk Southern.
Best one yet! Nice work NS.

Great looking engine NS! This is by far my favorite of the bunch so far. Can't wait to see it in action! Imagine the great looking fleet if the PRR survived into modern times.
And they just keep getting better! Very nice! :)
NS, once again you knock our socks off! Great looking locomotive, can't wait to see her in person!
Great job NS! Can't wait to see it out on the rails!
Awesome looking unit! Congratulations for the good work!

A great paint scheme to honor the standard railroad of the world

Hi NS, congratulations and thanks from abroad (from France). You set the example for the world. I hope that you will inspire many railroad companies including public administrations / historical operators. They can also revive their classic 1950's and 1960's liveries on today's quite boring engines.
Another Winner... Beautiful!! Nice photography, Casey, and thank you Norfolk Southern!!
Fresh PRR paint really looks sharp. This is a great thing NS is doing, they're winning over a bunch of fans! But all those rails and angles make me miss the Sharks on the North Jersey Coast Line!
A matching set of three of these would look really, really cool at the Curve!
My eyes poped out of my head. Dare I compare to A GG1 It's an Absolutly gorgeous machine
Way to go Altoona !, she's beautiful.
And painted at Altoona no less!
Wow! Yet another stunning heritage unit out of Altoona!! This new NS fleet of Heritage units is incredible, giving UP's Heritage fleet a real fun for their money!
Wowsers!! Got to second what several have already said, this has got to be my favorite thus far. And Tuscan too? What a knockout!
Growing up on the old Pennsy line in Northwest Ohio, this photo brings back some real pleasant memories. Thank-you.
Nice job NS. You are proving that trains of yester-year can still be honored in today's technology. Thanks!
Perfect is the only word I can think of here....

I keep hoping I will see one these out here near St. Louis... These pictures are so beautiful.
This is the best so far. Just hope to see it out here in Az passing through so I can get a picture of it.
NS: out of the park! Casey: care to trade jobs for awhile? Lots of mountain railroad photography opportunities here north of the 49th. parallel.
Ditto to all of the previous comments! I'm just glad they took the time to paint on the individual 5 stripes instead of the single fat wide stripe the PRR used in the later years of the Pennsy. Thanks for posting this Altoona gem produced in the homeland of the former PRR - very appropriate indeed!

What a Class Act!
"She's a Stunner" that's for sure. Especially in person. ;^)

Just looked up NS's website and got from their media section a public relations number to call to their offices in Virginia. Got a fellow's voice mail and left a message, with my name and where I live, saying thanks for spending the money to do these heritage units, they are really cool, am enjoying their photos here on railpictures.
Another winner! The heritage fleet is probably one of the best PR moves ever made by any RR in the last 20 years, if not longer! Way to go NS!
Tuscan was the chioce of liveries for many railroads worldwide in the first years of dieselization and it stands up just as nicely in the modern era, well done nice shot.

Hey y'all; the fellow at NS in Norfolk, VA, whose voice mail I left a message in called me today to say thanks. Cool he would do that.

A dream come true.Thank you NS.I would love to see this beauty coming down Pennsey's,[sorry] I mean NS's main in Cresson PA.
I just love this Pennsy locomotive. It was a dream to see her in Spencer on July 3rd of this year and when I looked out from inside the roundhouse and the sun hit her Tuscan red paint, my wife understood then why I stop to look at photos of the PRR. Thnak you NS for having the Family Portrait and thank you Andy Fletcher!!
