I wonder why CN felt compelled to add a pair of louvered doors to the short hood of the 4520? Such additions were usually made to some add extra air intake for a steam generator, but no CN-proper GP9 ever had a steam generator. Also note the relocated louver on the long hood, specified to accommodate the spelled out road name in the original paint scheme.
