Awesome shot, Mike! Big steam and warbonnets in magnificant scenery - does it get any better than that? Once again, thanks for sharing your fantastic stuff with the rest of us.

Great shot Mike. Knowing that "Road" you drove on to get there I'm sure that you didn't chase it before or after this photo. Outstanding dedication for one excellent picture.

A couple anecdotes: No I didn’t chase the train, since that road into Canyon Diablo is really slow. When we got to this location, several fans were already waiting for the special. Santa Fe dispatched a security guard to the bridge to protect the bridge for the special. Another photographer and I lamented to the guard how we thought a great photo of the train was going on the west side of the bridge (the OTHER side). Surprisingly he said, go ahead and cross, just be off the bridge when the special arrives. Wow! And so we did! Also, I was on my honeymoon, visiting Colorado (and Tennessee Pass, Craig Branch), Bryce Canyon and Grand Canyon (and Canyon Diablo, Apache) and New Mexico (Abo Canyon) and more. I’d say I’m pretty lucky with an understanding wife!
