Why do they paint the rails in white?

I was asked why the tracks are painted white. The rails are painted white once a year, so they reject the sun's rays in summer are very hot, so it lowers the temperature of the rail, it also serves to prevent rupture, partly because unlike in the past using the LWR (Long Welded Rail) lower risk of deformation of the track and less rust
