There's many other places. For example, google "boat lift Krasnoyarsk".

So I'm sorry. When I was at this cruise the staff was telling me that it is only five places where it are. All of this spots are located in Poland at the Ostródzko-Elbląski Canal. It was said also that such slip-way was first built in USA (Morris Canal) and idea was taken from that location and adopted in slip-ways Buczyniec, Kąty, Oleśnica, Jelenie, and located the lowest Całuny all of them in Poland near Elbląg City.

There is another in Canada about 150 miles north of Toronto Ontario. My wife and I were there to watch the boats going up and down. The verticle climb is somewhere around 100 feet or maybe just a little more than that.

FASCINATING. Does that large blue wheel in the water, behind the boat wind the cable ? How is this mechanism powered ?

The mechanism is powered by the water running down by the pipeline. The total vertical distance is just over 100 m and is divided by five slip-ways listed above in my comment. Yes you are right. On the blue wheel is a rope to move the car with a boat and empty car for another.
