George, the locomotive is actually an EMD SDP40F instead of an EMD FP45; fantastic early-era Amtrak image nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.

Great classic shot of how things used to be! I wish I could've been around to see this practice, but being born in 1982 didn't help me very much haha. Also it appears that the FP45 is smiling!

Outstanding photo, George. Any photo of train orders being hooped, train order boards, etc. is always a winner for me!
