As for the number of control stands, just one, I believe. Most all, if not all, of NS's original SD60's (6560-6700) are configured for LHF running. This is of course still the engineer side of the engine, just that the front is the opposite end of what you would first think.

The SR positioned the control stand alongside the engineer,not at an angle in front of him,that way he can operate with the left hand or the right.NW locos were dual controls.It's my understanding from a few of my fellow engineers that the NW guys were not to thrilled about running this way.
