I saw the Wabash color scheme on a heritage unit during the visit of Fort Wayne Railway Historical Society's NKP steamer #765 to the St. Louis area. Norfolk Southern sponsored a total of four short trips for its employees between Berkley, MO to St. Peters, MO that were held on September 8th & 9th over the former Wabash right-of-way. Kudos to the NS for running a first class operation for these trips... they even had "curb service" via golf carts for people from the parking lot to the train boarding. I am thankful they also allowed "non-employees" like me to participate. Anyway, the consist was coupled to Illinois Terminal and Wabash heritage units. I thought the Wabash color design was stunning. Artist and NS heritage locomotive designer Andy Fletcher was on hand signing and giving out posters of all the Norfolk Southern heritage designs.
