Great picture of a very sad procession. The overcast skies sum up the mood perfectly. Thanks for posting.

LTEX is probably going to rebuild or fix up to lease of sell. The CF7, it's probably going to be scrapped.

I used to operate these very engines out of Calwa,Calif. on the Mormon Turn,(Stockton,CA.)Those CF-7's were rolling gas chambers, the exhaust would come up into the cab! Some moron on the Santa Feces got the stupid idea to take half the brake shoes off these engines. You could not switch cars worth a damn on the lead, you just could hardly get a cut of cars stopped.

2619 (LAJ) is a CF-7, the rest are probably GP-50's and 40's. One of these will make it to a museum or private hands.

I don't see any GP-40/50's in this consist. They are all GP-30/35's in this line-up,except for the lone CF-7,and junk electric on the point.

Gordon, thats an interesting insite into the CF7's. I offten wondered why some of the EMD B-B type trucks had half their brake blocks removed.
