I really like the Erie and Virginian feel to the paint scheme.

The Victorian Railways 'Blue and Gold' livery first appeared in 1937, and was certainly inspired by the Erie livery.

Love the Mallee! Enjoyed chasing bulldogs to Hopeton and also on the Pinnaroo branch out of Taliem Bend ths past year. .. beautiful country! Would have loved to seen a DERM out there as well. These are GM powered, are they not?

I believe so, yes. They were actually delivered with Winton petrol engines (and therefor originally known as PERM), which were replaced with diesel engines later on. There is a contemporary newspaper article about it on the 'gallery' page of DERMPAV's website: http://www.dermpav.net.au/
