Are you sure those are white flags? No. 27, The Courier, ran as two units. Might they be faded green?

I was standing about right where that baggage cart is today and boy how things have changed! Only the track with the train on it still remains and the track all the way too the left that leads to the old turntable that's still there.

The 500 series was the last group of engines that carried a "push pole" and chain. The push poles were removed from all SAL units sometime between 63 and 67. Wonder if there are any shots of these dangerous tool.
