There have been items in the news recently about a refrigerated perishable foods warehouse being constructed at this terminal primarily to receive inbound fruits & vegetables by rail for further distribution into the Long Island market area, rather than having to truck them all the way out from the current "Hunt's Point" rail terminal in the Bronx.
