I appreciate that you took the time (and had the foresight) to visually record the U.P. railroad history as you did Chuck. I spent a lot of time in the Baldwin (L.P.) area during late C&O / early "Chessie System" era and regret that I did not share and record your 'vision' for the future...

Chuck... This is an interesting photo with an even more interesting writeup. Some 35 years ago, I used to pass through Trout Lake on a fairly regular basis, but my stops were generally brief as I was always in a hurry to see my "honey" (now my wife of almost 30 years!) while she was attending NMU in Marquette. It was often dark (or near dark) on my way back home to Ann Arbor (yea, I was a "troll!") so I usually just rolled through. More often than not, I would have a "rider" in my car (a NMU student looking for a quick ride back to lower peninsula) which helped pay for my gas. I do have some shots from Trout Lake and I really need to see if I have anything that is worth sharing or maybe a view that you haven't already shared. I always enjoy your submissions and I was so happy when you started posting to this site for you have shown me so many exceptional views of the U.P. that I have never seen before! Thank you and may your supply of slides/photos (and your energy to scan and upload them!) never be exhausted!
