Can you imagine working these machines in Texas back in those days? Texas is sometimes barely tolerable WITH air conditioning.

I'm from Texas, can't tolerate the weather down there. However, most of my family absolutely love the Lone Star State, it's that Texas dirt, think a little of it gets mixed in their blood supply. You can't take it out of them. I love the picture you shared Mr. Wilson. I grew up in SP country in Central California. Your picture is another welcome addition to my picture collection.

Well, now, look at the Elasco feedwater heater on top of the smokebox. My first view of this class of SP / T&NO P6 Pacific. Including the maintenance men adds something extra. Nice.
