James, does anyone have an explanation for the black box on the nose with 5387's MARS lites? Only the delivered batch of high 5380s and low 5390s came with these boxes. Nice color on this shot!

It was the fourth order of SD40T-2s that had the boxes on the nose, 5386-5397.
I have checked, and received no satisfactory answer, other than that's how EMD shipped them.
