I saw her up on the NYMR at Goathland Station while vacationing with my wife in the UK around this time last year. I forfeited a chance to ride on her though, opting instead to jump on Sir Nigel Gresley at Grosmont instead. Grwat memories. Love british steam. I'm a ture American patriot through and through, but I know beauty when I see it.

Thanks for spotting the typo. I have to agree, although I am primarily a fan of diesel locos (I'm not old enough to have experienced steam everyday) I have to admit the A4 paciifics are something special, truly beautiful locos, especially when seen at full flight on the mainline.

I'm in the same boat. Being 32, I did not experience steam. Though I did live in the UK for three years in the mid eigthies while my dad was stationed there with the U.S. Army, my steam memories are primarily of Thomas and Ringo Starr as his voice. Love British Steam and U.S. Deisel power. Strange. As for typos, I look back at my posts and cringe. I think I spelled great as gwat in my last post.
