I'll bet this hill would be a pain when icy. Sliding down to a train sounds scary.

That was my first thought, too. On one of those days where the fog begins to freeze into a glaze of ice, this would be one scary ride!

I believe based on the road markings and the fact that the vehicle is parked on the left side of the road... this road is a one-way going up that hill. Your theory of ice though could still come into play, as a car trying to make it up that hill could end up sliding back down. I'm sure though that they keep this road well maintained during inclement weather.
