I worked my last 6 months of my railroad career out of Richmond,VA running the worst locomotives I've ever operated in 36 years of engine service.Inside these things are small compared to other engines, and you are correct, you are right out there in front.I think this is the one involved in accident where it rear ended a stack train in Chicago.

Is this unit ever going to be rebuilt? It's been out of service for almost 6 years.

Remember the Arnold Swartsnagger (sp) "terminator"-type movie wherein some guy got a swing at him, and the actor, holding his nose, said with a nasal blockage, "He broke my nose!"

Thanks for posting. A few friends of mine were injured in the accident involving this unit. I hadn't seen any updates since it left the NS yard on a flat car. Thanks for posting.
