I AGREE with the previous commenter, that's one REALLY SHARP paint scheme. Somewhere along the line, another owner must have added that high-mounted bell over the nose, as Pennsy did not normally equip any of its diesels with an end-of-hood bell.

I'm willing to bet most here are not aware that early on in the beginning of the A&B that the ownership actually painted one of their units in the "Lionel" Paint Scheme. It lasted a while until Lionel pointed out that they had not asked permission to use the scheme.

The ADBF was actually approached by Lionel to paint the loco for some anniversary. It did last a number of years but I helped repaint it (1752) 1751 and 1760. Many hours sanding on those girls.

In my Penn Central Motive power book,page 146,show PC GP9 #7247 set up for long hood forward operation,with a nose mounted bell.
