The 1309 and 2705 both need attention, they were in pretty sad shape when I saw them about 4 years ago.

It would be great to see CSX refurbish and operate 1 or 2 old B&O steam locomotives like Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern has.

Fire Up 2-8-2 #4500 (or 4-6-2 #5300)! I'm with you, though the Museum would need a lot of support from CSX. A few C&O engines exist that might be closer to reality but it sure would be great to see B&O steam on the main along with a matched set of passenger cars currently on display in front of the Museum. Still - the Museum does have 4 steam engines which can be made readily available for operation including 2 B&O engines, the 1927 built replica 4-2-0 Lafayette and the 1856 built 4-4-0 William Mason.
