Brian, this nice shot has "summer" written all over it. Dandelions, kids in shorts, low water in the river and a train under a warm afternoon sky.

I really like this photo. It kinda brings back the romantic memories of childhood (watching trains in the lazy days of summer). I checked your profile Brian, and I have to hand it to you. You managed to incorporate three important factors of your profile: “my family, railroading, photography.” Johnstown, PA of course, has been noted for several devastating floods. I like how the town has converted the now mild mannered stream into a California style arroyo to handle flash floods.

I called on clients in Johnstown in the 80's & early 90's. The Conemaugh River had severe mine drainage problems and flowed a bright orange for many years. It's great to see that todays color shows there's work being done to eliminate the sulfer flow. The scars will take many years to wear off the rocks and concrete. I hope to see kids with fishing rods in the future.
