How did you get from Pinecliffe to Rollinsville in time to photograph 7287 in both places especially since you were on the south side of the track at Pinecliffe and had to wait for the train to pass? Your car must have jet-assisted takeoff. An interesting sequence.

Bruce, I cant answer your question unfortunately. Based upon Google Maps, I think I have the right towns for the photo locations. Alas, I am not from this area, and had a local railfan acting as tour guide and driver. But we did make it to each location with plenty of time to spare, as this train was not moving very fast.

Scott, your memory, of course, is correct as you can see Highway 72 winding down the hill in the Pinecliffe photo, and Rollinsville is easy to recognize. I just didn't know it could be done while driving at "safe and sane speeds". However, you did not guarantee that such was the case on that day in 2010. Thanks for sharing.

Bruce, as I said the train was not moving very fast. As for the speed we were driving, we had time to stop for scenic landscape photos at different spots and we were driving at a leisurely pace. As for whether we were speeding or not, I will guess that we were not, but I honestly don't know. I never felt unsafe during the drive. Sorry I can't give a definitive answer.
