Those are all B units. The last two are pointed the other way, you can see the engineer's mirrors. BTW, Southern didn't own any E8 B's.

Rather than Virginia, I believe the photo was taken at the Washington Terminal Company's Ivy City engine facility in Washington, D.C.

Thank you both for the helpful info. I created this account for my dad since he doesn't know how to upload his older slides. I didn't have any info on this photo, or many of the others for that matter. I will make the necessary changes.
