You always knew when one of their F45s was the leader on a train, there would be railfans chasing it. The '80s were a good time to be a railfan in the northeast, what with Conrail lobbying for independence and allowing excursions on its lines, even steam (Nickel Plate 765, N&W 611, GTW 4070, PRR 1361...) it was, sadly too good to last.
