What a mess I hate to see this kind of accident.

Who is responsible for paying for the damage, the Car Carrier Company or CSX?

I think that it just a regular ES44AC. I don't see the extra air actuator that lifts the center axle.

At least no one was killed or seriously hurt. BNSF will probably be able to salvage this unit, but it will most likely be sent back to GE for a complete re-cab rebuild. the 'magic makers' at GE will be able to remove just the cab off this unit and replace it with a new one. As long as the coupler is intact on the rear end, this unit is able to be towed on the rear of a train to the GE plant for the repairs needed to get it back on the rails again.

As I recall from Fire Dept training MANY years ago, the real hazard with auto-carriers is that each of those new cars has just enough gas in it to get on & off the trailer, and thus is a PERFECT explosion hazard. Especially when those almost empty tanks are "shaken."
