Neat shot, hard to believe that train was running at the same time as the Super Chief.

That is the FIRST Santa Fe passenger car I have EVER seen in tuscan red with gold lettering. Would be interesting to, as Paul Harvey used to say, know "the rest of the story" behind that paint scheme.

Drive past this location almost daily, Althought I was just not quite 3 at the time of this photo I do remember the ATSF presence here. Also remember St. Joseph Terminal operating here complete with a working turntable. Thanks for the memories.

As a young Engineering Department employee of the Santa Fe in 1979 and 1980, I unfortunately was witness to the removal of the St Joe branch by contractors. My job was to inventory each day's work. This engine was still around and working daily. No sign of the Combine!

As I recall thruout most of the early to mid seventies just across was the yard was the CRI&P's small presence in St. Joe.
