Imagine how NYC managed to run plenty of freight on this same rail line along with a fleet of passenger trains. Ditto for the New Haven on the Metro North New Haven Line. Ditto the PRR and PC on the former PRR NYC-Washington DC "corridor." Amazing how when the quasi-government operations take over, they suddenly can't accommodate freight traffic beyond the wee hours of the morning.
