There's a "grittiness" to this image which just draws me in. I would wager that building on the corner originally housed a bank. This is a location I much more familiar with viewing by dim streetlight while westbound late at night.

I remember it being a bank back in the 80's. I live 5 miles from Dawson and have enjoyed watching trains there often. It's a gauge how good (or bad) our economy is by the number of freight trains that roll by. Have never seen the rail traffic like there was back in the 90's. There's much mining and railroad history in this little town. I learn something new every time I'm there. It's quite the feeling of an oncoming train at night as your driving this section of Rt 819. This CSX rail line connects Chicago to Washington, DC and the towns along the way. The opposite side of the river was the original (B&O) railway. It's now part of the Allegheny Passage, a "rails to trails" which allows a person to ride a bike or hike from Pittsburgh, Pa to Washington, DC.

Interesting scene, splashes of color, well captured.
