Shots like that are usually company photos. You sure that wasn't staged? ;^) Seriously, that's a great picture, and that particular configuration probably doesn't happen very often. But nine trains in a few hours... it rewards patience! What beautiful curve easements and smooth high-iron, and those misty mountains back there — that's railroad photography at its best! Photos don't have to be sunny or snowy to be great. This shot evokes the sound of locomotives — one set roaring up the grade and the other set with dynamic brakes whirring on the downslope. I can't look at it without hearing it and feeling the vibrations; another hallmark of a great railroad photo.

Looks alot like a really well executed model railroad with that straight edged ballast line and clean power.
