FP45 have appealing lines to my eyes. Front end looks like a fast ship making way.

Whoa! What a nice shot! I was thinking this engine was on static display at the Barstow station, but it is not. ATSF 105 is sitting at Barstow now renumbered as 95.

Man they got those unit sparkling!
|
I LOVE this shot!

Love the engines, Love the paint scheme, Love the former Santa Fe, LOVE the photo! Thank you very much for sharing and long live the memories.

Santa Fe,always a class act.

Wow, Bob. Just wow. Your dazzling ability to find the exact best spot for the light was true 25 years ago too. Well done.
|
Gee, Bob, I never knew you'd been to Cajon Pass! (Note tongue planted firmly in cheek!)
I always liked these units when they were renumbered back to their original class (the 100s). Too bad that only lasted about a year. Thanks for sharing (especially since I couldn't get off work on this day).

Hard to believe such a scene existed in the late '80's and into the 90's!
|
Note to railroad CEOs: This is an example of STYLE.

Great shot portraying of one the best color schemes/designs ever. I am wondering if this is a digital photo which was just on the cusp of high quality at that time. Anyway, congrats on the super fine quality of this photo.
|
Great photo!! Really miss those cowl units.
|
A beautiful photo. Many thanks.

How awesome would it be for BNSF to "repossess" a pair of these for their business train? Throw some HEP in them while you're at it, plenty of room at the rear of the carbody.
|
SUPERB, Class Locomotive in the BEST Color Scheme of all time.
Wish i was there.
