My hometown! New Brunswick NJ. I remember the days when Florida trains were mighty like this. The Silver Star and the Silver Meteor each, basicaly two trains. Each had a Tampa section and a Miami section. The train split at Jacksonville. The consist was always at least 16 cars and I've seen it at 19 cars. I'd love to see a single HHP-8 or an AEM-7 try to haul a consist like this. The E60's sure could pull a long heavy train. Once the mightiest Amtrak trains on the Northeast Corridor, the Silver Star/Silver Metoer trains are now just a pretty generic Viewliner/Amfleet 2 consist.
