Nice perspective. So, is it allowable to ride like that with legs and arms hanging out? Pretty sure that wouldn't happen here in the states.

Hi Ian, even here it seems surprising, but yes, sitting with your legs out the window is allowed. I suspect nobody has ever dared ban it because it is such an iconic part of the railway. The loading gauge is quite wide so there's no risk of hitting line side objects - with the exception of the odd Tree Fern frond if you've got long legs!
