This is a switch indicator signal. Yellow if it's lined for the track that splits off from the main, green if it's lined for the main, and red if it hasn't been toned yet

Well, I thought they had railroad signals for that. Or is this otherwise 'dark territory'? (Forgive my sarcasm Matt; thanks for the education!)
