These locomotives are testing GE's design features intended to meet the EPA's Tier 4 emission regulations using a combination of exhaust gas recirculation, air handling and a high-pressure fuel system. UPRR has 5 such test units and will work them through the next several months. BNSF will be receiving a group as well.
