Thanks for the informative caption. Nicely captured - using the evening light to hide what is a very poorly painted bridge. The color faded within years, if not months but the paint is doing (part of) it's job in protecting "well enough" the structure underneath. There are no plans to repaint, consequently, though there was much controversy initially.

Nice shot! There aren't many good photos of it other than the aerial ones Amtrak did of it a few years ago.

NICE catch with the loaded oil barges coming down the East River. Reminiscent of the photos taken in the early 20th century with the river filled with railroad car floats and cargo barges.

I've ridden across it and seen aerial photos but seeing a train on it makes me realize how big that monster is. Great photo.
